Other Insurance Protections
There's little you can do to prevent a “natural” disaster or a so called act of God and so property insurance comes into play. Whether or not the Almighty sends tornadoes, fires, floods or damaging winds just to destroy your property, one thing is for sure: He is not paying for it! And unless you have property insurance then you will be stuck paying for the damage out of your own pocket.
Vandalism and theft is also a special concern. While someone vandalizing a storage building may just be inconvenient, having your primary place of business vandalized or robbed is a major expense and worry. You can't stop people from terrorizing your business, but you can take steps to recover your lost or damaged goods. Property insurance can insure your valuables along with the physical location.
One more factor to consider in property insurance coverage is liability. If anyone is injured on your property, then you could be liable for their medical bills as well as additional pain and suffering. If you have no liability coverage, how much can this cost you? Plenty! And if you can't pay out of pocket then you can bet lawyers will try and seize your assets. Property insurance with liability can protect you and your resources. After all, if you're not looking out for yourself, legally speaking, who else will?
