When shopping for homeowners insurance the price is not the most important factor. In Oklahoma, a tornado destroyed many home in 1999. At that point having the lowest annual premium was not important. Having adequate coverage became very vital.
Everyday I receive phone calls from individuals “shopping” for insurance, looking only at the bottom line. Are they looking at how much it will take to rebuild? Replace everything in their home? Pay off their mortgage? Or just the lowest price/premium!
The cost of fuel, rising cost of lumber and building supplies increase the cost of rebuilding a home. |
